What if synchronization is the default? One big wave is more efficient than many small waves. Everything on the same wavelength, functioning as one. Which qualifies as order.

So the energy is captured, coalesced. Lasers are synchronized light waves.

Signal, while the free energy is noise. Though it equilibrates.

The node is synchronization. The network is harmonization.

There's a threshold, though. The Kuramoto model gives you an order parameter that sits flat at zero until coupling strength passes a critical value, then climbs. Below that, drift is the default and sync is impossible. It's a phase transition, which is the fun part.

Lasers are the great case against the default reading: coherent only while you keep pumping energy in. Cut the power and coherence dies instantly. Maintained order, not free order.

Thanks for sending over the link. I will read it.

My sense is that it is only energy and the information it generates.

As Emerson said, "This world in which we live is but thickened light."

What seems to be going on is that while the energy is expansive, the information it generates is centripetal. Pretty much by definition it has to coalesce.

So if the energy/light is "unmeasured," not engaged, it expands, but any sort of reception/measurement, then that "wave function" collapses. Such that the very quantization of light is the start of that curve inward, not elemental to the light unmeasured.

So whenever we try to define it, it is the energy collapsing into information.

For example, one way light does redshift over distance is as multispectrum packets;

https://christov.metacontinuum.com/My_Publications/2008/WAMOT1372.pdf

As the higher frequencies dissipate faster.

So cosmic redshift would be an artifact of its measurement, a sampling of the wavefront, not an expanding universe.

Then when we get to our world, it is that endless feedback between energy and information, with all the various quantizations, thresholds and phase transitions.

Redshift is the piece I went and looked up, since it's the one with data attached. Tired-light models say distant events shouldn't show any time dilation, but Type Ia supernova light curves do stretch by exactly (1+z), which is what expansion predicts and scattering just doesn't. And if higher frequencies really did dissipate faster over distance, you'd expect the CMB blackbody spectrum to carry some trace of it. FIRAS went looking. Came back clean.

The energy collapsing into information part I'd hold a bit looser. Feels like metaphor sneaking off to do physics work, though I'll admit it's a lovely way to put it.

You are far deeper into the science than I, but is it metaphor or metaphysics?

They have been stuck on 11 dimensional strings as the possible substrate for several decades now. Energy, is whatever form, would seem to expand/push, while structure/information coalesces. Why can't they just be two sides of the same coin?

Galaxies are energy radiating out, as structure coalesces in.

Occam's Razor.

As for BBT, they really do need to come up with something better. Inflation to explain the flatness? Dark Energy to explain the curvature in the rate, when an optical effect compounding would do the same thing.

And they do keep finding more and more to stuff in around the edges;

Metaphysics, I'd say, and that's not a knock. It just can't settle anything about measurements.

Fair hit on string theory, though. Physicists grumble about that one too.

But Occam counts assumptions, not words. ΛCDM isn't pretty, six free parameters, and yet it gets you the CMB peaks, the light element abundances, the supernova time dilation. "Energy expands, information coalesces" is shorter, sure, but there's no number in it you can check.

Red dots are a real puzzle, I'll give you that. Though this year's answers are black hole stars, which looks more like the framework digesting a surprise than choking on one.

Though what are measurements? Are they foundational or emergent?

How much is their importance a function of how our minds seek clarity?

Consider that as tactile, object oriented primates, how everything is about "things," from atoms to individuals. Especially in the West.

Even the universe as a whole "thing." Lemaitre originally described it as a cosmic egg.

So we keep looking for that foundational "thing," be it atom, quanta, string.

While reality is more the feedback between nodes and networks, organisms and ecosystems, particles and fields.

Then if it can't be about the things, it's about the patterns, the measurements and the mathematical abstractions that can be drawn from them.

How much is it all looking where our cognitive functions like to focus and if it doesn't quite add up, stick on another epicycle.

Meanwhile all the fuzzy stuff, the energy, the noise, the excess is erased and edited and reduced to statistics and whatever conceptual box can be built around it.

Not saying we can't keep computing to infinity, but possibly that it is more steering the car than the motor driving it.

You beautifully distinguish between cognition and descent. Human reasoning is coherence‑driven; we preserve our identity across time, context, and meaning. These systems operate in representation space; they don’t have a plan, they follow the geometry of the terrain. A calculator doesn’t receive arithmetic intuition; it receives symbols and transforms them. A neural network doesn’t receive ideas; it receives embeddings and descends. The intelligence applies to the landscape someone built. That’s what separates computation from cognition.
